Friendship Farms & Fare

Website: fffsite.org

Friendship Farms is a no-waste, no-kill, urban mirco-farm. We offer our produce through a Community Supported Agriculture program, and when there is abundance beyond our CSA shares, we offer produce to the general public. We also sell seeds saved from our harvest, seasonal vegetable seedlings, and various Florida trees and shrubs. We specialize in Loquat trees. Our seeds are from plants that have thrived in this area, producing seeds acclimated to the region. Remember, unless you purchase seeds from a local seed saver, you are likely getting seeds that are not acclimated to the Central Gulf Coast of Florida — or even to Florida itself.

For more information on Friendship Farms & Fare, or if you would like to order directly from us, please visit our website. You can also contact us for information about our CSA.

Our produce is grown using organic, permaculture methods. We start our plants from our own seeds (saved from previous seasons) or certified organic seed from organizations committed to sustainable agriculture (and whenever possible heirloom seeds). We use traditional methods of soil enrichment and plant empowerment (composting and vermiposting), and we use rainwater or well water whenever possible. Any external growing amenities used on the farm are OMRI certified — the industry standard for organic farms. We never use GMO products or GM seeds, pesticides, or synthetic additives, non-organic fertilizer, or growth hormones. Friendship Farms is located in a certified National Wildlife “backyard habitat,” and an officially recognized “Florida Friendly Yard” (as certified by the University of Florida Extension Service and Institute of Food and Agricultural Services).

We are a licensed Seed Seller in the State of Florida and a Registered Nursery in the State of Florida.

Friendship Farms is home to bees, bats, birds, frogs, toads, and a vast array of insects – a teeming diversity of life that appears quite naturally when given a safe and supportive environment. We welcome these companions to this oasis of life where we are fortunate to produce food for members of our human family who have lately joined these older residents of the planet.
